Behind the Shoot!

February 6, 2011 § Leave a comment

Yesterday I made my first real attempt at directing a short film. The project is called Discovery where every student creates whatever they desire. The projects range from sculptures to flash games to 3d models. I chose to do somewhat of an experimental short film. The goal of it is not to have a great finished product but more for us to learn about our field of choice, make mistakes and learn.

I was lucky enough to be able to shoot in Stanley Park, but it was overcast and since I chose to go with natural light instead of a lighting kit I’m not 100% satisfied with the footage, it went well overall. I shot it on my Canon Rebel T2i, and a good friend helped out shooting some cutaway stuff on his EOS 60D. Sound was recorded on a Rode Videomic and because of the water washing up on shore I may need to do some work on the levels….not going to be fun.

Below are a few of the photo’s from behind the scenes, check the rest out on my Flickr page

Today, I Learned How to Draw

Actually, I did some character designs for the first time. I never was or will be good at drawing, but to be honest I’m pretty happy with a few of these. I have entered a new stage for doodling in my school notes, from random squiggly lines to real drawings, cool.

Where Am I?
